MyHeritage Sample Shipping Process: Step by Step from Turkey

MyHeritage is one of the world's leading laboratories in genetic testing and genealogy research. For individuals wishing to send a DNA or saliva sample from Turkey, the process must be both safe and legally compliant.

1. Choose Your Test Kit and Apply

• First, select the test kit from MyHeritage that suits your needs.
• Apply online to have the kit sent to you.

2. Sample Collection

• A saliva sample can usually be collected at home.
• If you prefer professional support, the Omega Care Home Healthcare team can collect the sample at your home.
• Sterile conditions must be observed during collection to prevent contamination.

3. Packaging the Sample

The sample is packaged with the triple packaging system compliant with IATA and UN3373 standards:

1. Primary container: Sample tube or vial.
2. Secondary container: Additional protection against impact and leakage.
3. Outer packaging: Shipping box with the UN3373 label.

4. Preparing the Required Documents

• Individual tests generally do not require Ministry of Health permission; however, large-volume shipments or clinical research shipments require permits and compliance with ethical rules.
• An acceptance document from the recipient laboratory speeds up the shipping process.

5. Transfer and Logistics

• The sample is shipped to the MyHeritage laboratory via medical express courier.
• Transfer usually takes 1–2 weeks.
• Throughout the process, the shipment can be tracked with its tracking number.

6. Delivery and Confirmation

• When the sample arrives at the laboratory, delivery confirmation is sent to the sender.
• MyHeritage processes the test and delivers the results directly to the test owner.

Conclusion

Sending a sample to MyHeritage is a fast and safe process when planned correctly, step by step. With professional support, you can complete the process smoothly.
